Easter

Happy Easter, everyone! I love Easter. See this is the only "family holiday" where it is just me and my hubby. This year we're having one heck of a meal! We're grilling Fillet Mignon (wrapped in bacon), green bean casserole and mashed potatoes for dinner. I also made a few deviled eggs (thanks to my husband's mom for teaching me how to make the yolk part..hehe) and this year I made the basic, chocolate pudding pie! MmmMmm! It's very simple. Just chocolate pudding poured into an already made graham cracker crust, put it in the fridge then top with whipped cream and chocolate sprinkles! :)

I also gave my husband his Easter basket this morning. Every year, even when we were dating, I'd make him an Easter basket. I found the perfect basket this year. It is a bucket type thing with camo fabric! I got him "Troy" on BluRay and just silly stuff. He is excited though for the Brita (attach to the sink faucet) filter thing :) The best part of this whole basket thing is that he's not a big sweets guy. He's never been a fan of a lot of chocolate, cake, etc. So every year, when I'm making him his Easter basket, I always pick out my favorite candy! lol! I always pick, Snickers and of course Reese's PB eggs...that way nothing goes to waste! lol! I just put the candy in the freezer and wait for one of those days down the road where I'm just dying for a damn Reese's PB egg! lol! It's just fun to make the basket for him. And I love it because for the last few years, he always acts "surprised" when really, he knows that I hid the basket in the closet, behind my basket of shoes, covered by a skirt and possibly in a Target bag, but he doesn't go searching, he doesn't just say "look I know you have that damn Easter crap in the closet", nope..he waits until Easter morning when I bring the basket out, and you'd think that I was the actual damn Easter Bunny lol. I love him. My husband, not the Easter Bunny. To be honest with you, the Easter Bunny scares the hell out of me. Always has, always will. So anyways, another wonderful holiday with my husband. I am so grateful for these days, days like these it doesn't matter where I'm at (here, Upstate NY, Bahamas..lol) just as long as I'm with him.
