So the excitement is overwhelming! You may think I am silly, but here's the story :)
Had a wonderful weekend, one of my girls came to visit us and we just had a blast, shopping, grilling out, drinking wine, chatting about life. It was just so nice to chill and relax. After she left on Sunday, it became movie day. I, again, watching "P.S. I Love You". I, again, added it to the my list...the list of movies to watch only once and never again. This list also includes scary movies like "Halloween","Blair Witch Project", etc. but also includes movies such as "Marley & Me", "Seven Pounds", "Benji". Yes, that's right, "Benji". lol. Oh and we can't forget the first movie on the list..."An American Tale"! Watched it once and called it a day. So really this list began in like 1989..haha! Anyways. Yesterday was another chill day, looking for jobs, having lunch with K, etc. Today, was a little different. Spent the day cleaning, grocery shopping, job search, making dinner, chatting with Grandma on the phone. It was a nice day, but still looking for a job can just bring your whole day down to a crappy level. It sucks. I did apply for some. We'll see what happens. It just sucks because every day I'm reminded of why I'm in this position. For awhile each day I am a huge ball of emotions.
On Tuesdays at 9:00 p.m., my mood changes, no matter what. I sit there on the couch with my love and watch my favorite show "Deadliest Catch". I sit there cross-legged on the couch, I do not speak to my love unless I am explaining parts of the show, the crew, the equipment to him, or just showing him my vass knowleged of the show and/or crabbing fishing. haha! For an hour I am in complete awe of this show. Anyways, during a commerical my love pauses the tv (thank you, d.v.r.) and there it is. On the screen was an advertisement. The advertisement is for the two captains from the F/V (fishing vessel) Time Bandit. Andy and Jonathan. I love them. The advertisment stated that on October 2 they are going to be at Penn State-York to talk about their new book (stories from the Bering Sea) and answer questions! So of course, I hop on the laptop (with tears in my eyes) and look it up. I told my love that if the tickets are under $30, we'll go. lol Not even really giving him a choice if he wanted to go or not. haha. Anyways, I look it up on the laptop and for $25 you can attend. But, for $39.50 you can get V.I.P tickets! This includes (drum roll please) A MEET & GREET!!! AHH!! You can take pictures, get autographs, etc. My love said do it, buy the tickets, lets go! I explained to him that I wouldn't even know what to do, say, etc. I've never met anyone famous, and trust me, if you know me, or read my "Random" blog entry, these guys are the Sea Gods! lol. I know that when I meet them (ahh!!!!!) I will probably get all red-faced, giggle like I'm five and probably give them a big ol' Miller hug! lol. I know this might seem silly to you all, but this really is a dream come true. I love every single F/V on Deadliest Catch, but the Time Bandit *sigh* they are just awesome. Truly awesome. I can't believe it. I'm so excited I could pee. haha!
So now I have 4 months (to the day) to think of a question to ask them. I'm torn between three.
1) Can I fly up to Dutch Harbor and go fishing with you guys, for like an hour, then we'll all head back to the Fisherman's Pub and do shots?
2) Will you change the vessel's name to "Miller Bandit"?
3) Do you have any job opportunities for a legal secretary/receptionist? Screw it, I'll move to Alaska...at least I'd be able to see Russia from my house.
With all my love.
