Wonderful Weekend

One word to describe this weekend...relaxing! My love got out of work early on Friday, so we headed up to our hometown for the weekend, well sort of. We stayed over Friday night and I got to see my girl "L"! It worked out perfectly, she's up there visiting for the week, so we got to see eachother. She came over and we all just chatted away for about 5 hours. It was awesome. Just to sit around laughing, telling my hubby funny stories about the two of us and the trouble we have caused. haha! Saturday we woke up early, grabbed some unhealthy, but delicious, breakfast sandwiches from McDonald's and hit to road for Silvan Beach where my love's parents have their camper. The weather was gorgeous! We relaxed, hung out with the parents, saw all of their camping friends, grilled, it was great. After dinner my love and I walked around the little downtown area, watched the lake for alittle bit and got icecream. It was so nice, no phone calls, no computer, no tv, just us. It was peaceful. That night we tested out our new tent and air matress, I slept like a baby. No joke, I could sleep on that air mattress every night. Maybe it was the fresh air, the quietness, maybe it was the rain that rolled through later that night. Either way, I slept like a baby. We woke up early on Sunday, had breakfast, then headed for home. We weren't sure if we were going to stay the night again in the hometown or just drive all the way home. But once we got to our hometown we thought screw it, the traffic will be hell tomorrow, and to be honest, I missed our Chloe. hehe! Today was another perfect day. Sleeping in, sitting outside, grilling, and just being with my hubby. Of course I thanked him for everything he did to help keep the freedoms we have for example letting us be able to celebrate holidays like Memorial Day. When ever I do thank him, he always thanks me. It might sound silly, but he on days like today and Veteran's Day, he thanks me too for being so supporting through all of that. Today he said that because of women like me, and family, etc. supporting them and taking care of things at home it made it easier. And like he has said numerous times, but still makes me cry every time, is that I gave him a reason to fight and stay strong. But I still don't think he should thank me. I mean really, all I had to do was take care of the bills. He dealt with the real stuff. I sent an email to our buddy and thanked him for everything that he does for us. I just hope that throughout today, others took the time to thank them. Whether they lived or died. Whether they sat at a desk, or were in the front line. Whether they never left the U.S. they all need to be thanked. Not just today, but every day. For everyday we get to breathe, we get to speak our minds, we get to pray to whatever God we'd like, we get to laugh and walk hand in hand, down the street with really, no worries. Today you'd be silly not to be grateful for the men and women who gave their lives for us. And I don't mean just the men and women who gave their entire life, I also mean the men and women who miss their child's first smile, their first wedding anniversary, their birthday, Christmas, a family bbq, who give a part of their life that they can never get back. Our flag keeps flying freely because of them, and the pride I have for every single one, makes me heart want to burst.

My love to you all.
