So I'm working part-time in an office environment. I started at the end of May...early June. This office is very quiet and sometimes the phone never rings so I have read many books (at least for me it's many). Now I will tell you right now they are by no means intellectual. Some do not expand your wisdom or for that matter your mind/brain. They are just fun reads and very interesting. This summer I got really into autobiographies and memoirs on famous people. No, I'm not talking famous people like Ghandi or Abraham Lincoln .. I'm talking t.v. celebrities. You'll see in my list. The thing I love about the kind of books I read is well:
1) I can understand them and the words that create these small pieces of masterpieces..hehe
2) I get lost in them. I forget where I am and what's going on in my life and melt into the book.
3) They are like soap operas but in a book format which is better because when I'm done with the book I feel really really smart. So smart I sometimes want to write a book report! hehe!
Some I've read before, some I haven't. Most of my hard-earned money was spent and is still being spent on books. Anyways ... here's the list:
- The Yankee Years by Joe Torre
- Emily Ever After by Anne Dayton and May Vanderbilt
- Annie Freeman's Fabulous Traveling Funeral by Kris Radish
- Looking for Alaska by John Green
- Can You Keep a Secret? by Sophie Kinsella
- Are You There Vodka? It's Me Chelsea. by Chelsea Handler
- Paula Deen: It Ain't All About the Cookin' by Paula Deen
- Official Book Club Selection: A Memoir According to Kathy Griffin by Kathy Griffin
- The Bachelorette Party by Karen McCulluh Lutz
- Remember Me? by Sophie Kinsella
- Good Grief by Lolly Winston
- Smashed: Story of a Drunken Girlhood by Koren Zailckas
Not too shabby of a list when you think about it. Started in June and the last book I read was the Kathy Griffin (hilarious!) one which I finished last week. hehe! And I've made a rule not to read the books at home because then I'll have to buy even more books in a shorter period, and well momma doesn't make that much money to support her book habit. :) So I highly recommend each and everyone of these books. Let me know and I'll let you borrow them. Remember, they're not "deep" books. They are those lazy Sundays kind of books, but they're my favorite. :) I'll keep you updated on the book list :)
All my love.
